Land Affirmation

As members of the tri-campus SCTL team, we honour the history of Indigenous Peoples by acknowledging past atrocities and recognizing the privilege that settlers have in working on these traditional lands. We work collaboratively with one another to leverage etuaptmumk (two-eyed-seeing) so that we may embrace new ways of knowing and being that both honour Indigenous knowledge and support our efforts in decolonizing our teaching practice. 

The path towards reconciliation is complex and personal but we urge our fellow educators to embrace this journey with us as we move forward in our learning. 

St. Lawrence College is situated on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples. 

May we always be grateful to live, learn, and teach on these lands.
